Classes for non-members
Hand building class (8 weeks, $175): Our only class for non-members, and the first step to becoming a member at Sudbury Basin Potters. This 8 week handbuilding class teaches you the basics of working with pottery. The class takes place at the studio in New Sudbury, and the class fee includes your clay and firing fees.
Outline of course:
Week 1: Pinch pots
Week 2: Coiling
Week 3: Slab
Week 4: Masks
Week 5: Boxes
Week 6: Glazing
Week 7: Glazing
Week 8: Pick up pieces
Once you've completed the handbuilding class, you can become a member of Sudbury Basin Potters if you wish. There is a contract to sign which includes health and safety and privacy information as well. There is also a $120 annual membership fee and a $50 key deposit (refundable). Once you get the studio tour, you'll receive your key and can start working at the studio. Only SBP members are able to take wheel classes since they require knowledge of working with clay already.

Classes for members:
Once you are a member of Sudbury Basin Potters, you will have the opportunity to sign up for a wheel class, an intermediate wheel class, as well as workshops and demonstrations. These will be updated in the members area of the website.
